3. 2014 Ramey Rodgers Creek Vineyard Syrah
This is a blockbuster effort that reminds me of a goisod vintage of the Côte Rôtie La Mouline from Guigal. Awesome notes of incense, lavender, bacon fat, & spring flowers gives way to a full-bodied, voluptuous Syrah that has a sexy, seamless texture, sweet tannin, & a big finish. 4. 2016 Ramey Russian River Pinot Noir
This wine offers a light ruby/purple color as well as complex notes of kirsch, black raspberries, garrigue, & spice. Ramey has started using a touch of whole cluster & this was 75% destemmed, with that touch of stems adding a certain complexity & attractive herbal note. I loved the 2016 Syrah Sonoma Coast, a dead ringer for an outstanding Cote Rotie with its gamey, olive, flower, & sweet red & black fruit-driven aromas & flavors.
